Plot

Vidyadhar Patwardhan (Amitabh Bachchan) lives a middle-class life with his wife, Sumitra (Sharmila Tagore). They have a son, Amar (John Abraham) who lives abroad in London. It is through his income that the family lives on. Amar returns home with Jenny Mayer (Anusha Dandekar) and announces his intention to get married to her. Both his parents are pleased and happy for the two.

Amar goes out celebrating with his friends, whilst his parents and Jenny organise a surprise party for him. Meanwhile, outside a pub, Amar witnessed a murder and while trying to apprehend the killer, he got killed in the fight. The family are devastated and they follow the case up to the conviction of the assailant who is identified to be Harshwardhan Kadam (Amitabh Dayal), son of a high ranking official.

The police change the reports and Amar's parents soon find out that the murder of their son has been covered up. They accuse Amar of selling drugs and the witnesses are battered and are forced to change their statements. Soon Jenny is accused of selling drugs and she is locked up in a cell. For her safety, Amar's parents tell her to go back to London. When Harshwardhan is found not guilty, Amar's parents seek justice and they decide to get it their own way with the help of their friend Ali Asgar (Sanjay Dutt).

The song Shree Ganeshay Dheemanhi was selected from one of the Stavanas of Lord Ganesha from Marathi Music maestro Ajay- Atul.
